At this year’s Fensterbau, Primo presents a real novelty: The newly developed StyroClick thermal extension profile with superior insulation properties and countless applications for the window and door producer.

StyroClick from Primo is a new utility model thermal extension profile with much-improved U-values, faster installation and a wide range of applications including windows, doors and other building elements.

The profile is ideal for new buildings or renovation projects where windows or doors need to be extended. In such cases, it is necessary to apply a well-insulated extension of the building element to keep the overall heat loss as low as possible.

The StyroClick extension profile consists of an EPS core encased in a rigid, extruded PVC profile. It is available in heights of 50 mm and 100 mm and can be adapted to all extruded PVC window and door profiles. Furthermore, the inner core can also be made from PUR.

Superior insulation

The inner core is made from expanded polystyrene (EPS), which gives excellent profile insulation properties. In tests, a base profile with a width of 50 mm and a depth of 86 mm performs with a U-value of just 0.58 W/m2K. Using PUR, the U-value goes all the way down to 0.47 W/m2K.

100 % recyclable and easy to fit

The extruded profile is made from pure PVC, which is 100 % recyclable. At the end of the product’s life span, the profile can be separated easily from the EPS core and recycled. In fact, so can the EPS core.

Because the PVC profile has built-in flexibility, it clicks to the frame without tools and forms a tight fit around the inner core. The EPS core is fitted in the extruded profile without the use of glue, allowing it to be separated and recycled when the time comes. StyroClick can also be easily combined with foiled frame profiles.
